The planning for San Tin Technopole has minimised impacts on the existing developments as far as possible. However, it is unavoidable that some existing structures, brownfield operations, farming activities, fishpond culture, graves and burial grounds will be affected. The Government has recently enhanced its ex-gratia allowances and rehousing arrangements for eligible squatter occupants and business operators affected. The Government will also provide proactive assistance to the affectees during the land clearance process.
